ORBITCUT annotated concept render — avocado pressed into self-centring cradle over guarded rotary cutting wheel

ORBITCUT

The problem: "avocado hand" — the knife slip that happens when a blade is driven through an avocado held in the palm — is a recognised injury pattern that sends thousands of people to A&E every year and keeps appearing in consumer press.

The device: a countertop prep station that removes the exposed knife entirely. The fruit settles into a self-centring padded cradle; the user presses straight down onto a fixed-axle rotary cutting wheel housed at the base — pointing up, fully guarded, never near a palm. One rotation inside the padded walls scores a clean circumference around the stone. Twist, lift, done.

The business case: sits squarely in the viral-able "kitchen injury fixer" category — proven retail velocity, a named injury to market against, and multi-fruit adaptability (avocados, lemons, limes, round fruit) that widens the shelf pitch. Space-saving format with non-slip feet, dishwasher-safe parts.
